Government now starts probing SpeakAsiaOnline functioning in India
Government has ordered enquiry against the said to be multi level marketing company SpeakAsiaOnline which is in news for alleged fraud by taking money from over 15 lakh people across India which have registered in the company as panelists and were promised good returns for completing two surveys every week. Government informed parliament that the initial inquiry revealed that the company is not registered in India under the Company Act.
The matter was raised in Rajya Sabha as reported earlier. Minister of Stater for Corporate Affairs RPN Singh told Rajya Sabha in a written reply that his ministry has ordered for investigation in SpeakAsiaOnline functioning in India.
"As per preliminary inquiry, it is found that the company is not registered under the Companies Act. Besides, the company has also not registered its place of business with the Registrar of Companies, Delhi, as required under Section 592 of the Companies Act, 1956," Singh said.
Earlier the EOW branch of Mumbai police arrested Tarak Bajpai, COO of the company with some of his colleagues and the very first panelist who registered with the company.
