Explorer | Budget Android announced by HTC
HTC has announced a budget friendly Android phone named Explorer which will hit the stores in India next month. This is a good news for HTC lovers who previously couldn't afford a Android phone from the Taiwan based smartphone manufacturer. But Explorer is very highly priced at 12,650, which is according to us is too much with the given specifications.
HTC Explorer is very similar to Micromax A70 with some better specs. Explorer runs the new Android v2.3 Gingerbread with sense which is the plus compared to Micromax A70. The droid from HTC lacks somethings too like no front facing camera and will have a low battery life because of a small battery of 1230 mAh. Other features are very similar to A70, the same screen size with same resolution and same 600 Mhz processor. The phone has a brand value being from HTC but a price that high will hamper it sales and people are more likely to go for Micromax A70 even though Explorer runs Gingerbread v2.3 beacuase of the price. If Explorer was priced around Rs 8-9K than we would have recommended it over A70 but not at this high price.
Some specs of the phone:
- 3.2-inch touchscreen with 320 x 480 pixel resolution
- 3G, EDGE/GPRS, Wi-Fi
- GPS with A-GPS support
- Bluetooth v3.0 with A2DP, USB 2.0
