Apple Co-founder Steve Jobs passes away, marks end of an era
Apple's former CEO Steve Jobs and co-founder of the company died on Wednesday. Steve Jobs had been working as the chairman of the board after he resigned as CEO. He had undergone an operation for a rare form of pancreatic cancer and had other health issues. Apple announced his death late on Wednesday nigh without giving a cause.
Steve Jobs was a great visionary who gave products like iPod and the iPhone to the world. His vision and brilliance made Apple a household name. Tim Cook took over as the CEO after Steve Jobs stepped down in August. The company released a statement saying,"We are deeply saddened to announce that Steve Jobs passed away today. Steve's brilliance, passion and energy were the source of countless innovations that enrich and improve all of our lives. The world is immeasurably better because of Steve".
Steve's family released a statement later saying, "In his public life, Steve was known as a visionary; in his private life, he cherished his family. We are thankful to the many people who have shared their wishes and prayers during the last year of Steve's illness; a website will be provided for those who wish to offer tributes and memories. We are grateful for the support and kindness of those who share our feelings for Steve. We know many of you will mourn with us, and we ask that you respect our privacy during our time of grief,"
Tributes have started pouring in since the news of his death has spread across the world. Facebook founder Mark Zuckerburg updated his status saying, "Steve, thank you for being a mentor and a friend. Thanks for showing that what you build can change the world. I will miss you."
Steve Jobs will always be remembered for his excellence and shear brilliance which has revolutionized the way people were related to technology. A great mind and visionary, Steve Jobs was among the top business personalities of the world. Our heartfelt condolences goes out to Steve's family.
