5 Tips to Prolong Battery life in Android Phones
Android phones have revolutionized the smartphone market but the major concern is always battery life. Android phones come with high end processors and a lot of background processes always keep on running which drains the battery too quickly. Here are few tips that will help you to prolong the battery life of your Android smartphone.
1. CLOSE 2nd LEVEL APPLICATIONS:
In many cases, some applications if we leave them, just to goto 2nd level and then have quick access to them or to they synchronize data. It is highly recommended to visit the Task manager from time to time and close those processes manually.
2. DISABLE THE AUTOMATIC UPDATE:
Many Android smartphones have this option enabled by default, which is also recommended to be switched off because the phone will constantly be looking for firmware updates.
The mobile vibrator is another thing that needs alot of battery, so it is wise to use it only in extreme noise situations.
4. USING THE POWER CONTROL WIDGET:
This widget is very handy because with one touch, we can enable or disable WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, automatic synchronization and adjust brightness.
5. ELIMINATE UNNECESSARY WIDGETS:
Many Android widgets require an Internet connection, such as weather widgets, Twitter, emails, or Facebook are always connected to the Internet for updates. Removing them will help us save battery.
There are applications such as launchers, keyboards, etc., which consume battery, believe it or not. In fact any application is a potential consumer of battery, whether we use it or not ( we never know if the developer has taken care of the management aspect of the battery or not). Therefore, it is necessary to have only those apps in your Android phone that you use very frequently, the rest you always can be re-download or keep them as a backup in the phone and they will be installed under 30 seconds when required.
Of course these tips are very basic, almost obvious to some, but no other tricks except ROMs specializing in low battery consumption can have huge impact on your battery life. If you follow these tips carefully you can save upto 25% battery life.
