    BlackBerry Porsche Design P'9981 launched by RIM in India

    Research in Motion has launched their new Porsche Design P'9981 BlackBerry smartphone in India. RIM has been known for years for making their business centric BlackBerry smartphones. This is their attempt at providing users with a luxury smartphone. Research in Motion tied up with sports brand Porsche Design to develop this smartphone.

    Porsche Design P'9981 is just not a luxury smartphone, it has some interesting specs. The smartphone is powered by a 1.2 GHz Qualcomm processor and has 768 MB of RAM. The smartphone comes with 8 GB of storage space which can be expended upto 32 GB with a microSD card. 

    The phone may not be seen in many hands because of the price tag but the smartphone will become a hit among the fashion savvy people who want to create a style statement. The move to launch the smartphone in India was unexpected as the company is going through a hard time, slashing prices of their smartphones and even stopping the sales of 16 GB version of  their Playbook.

    The Porsche Design P'9981 has a 2.8 touch screen which has a resolution of 640x360 pixels. The phone comes with a 5MP camera at the back with a flash and supports 720p HD video recording. The smartphone runs on the latest BlackBerry OS 7.0 and can be upgraded to OS 7.1.  Now comes the pricing, Porsche Design P'9981 has been priced at around some 1.39 lakh's. That's alot more than usual smartphones are priced at now a days.
