Extra security layer to be provided says LinkedIn
The social networking platform for professionals LinkedIn has said that they will provide an extra layer of security to its users. This statement comes out after last week's security breach in which large number of passwords were stolen. LinkedIn had previously updated about the incident on their blog explaining what steps have been taken to increase the security for its users.
LinkedIn said, all the member passwords have now been "salted". Its a technique which increases the time and computer resources needed to crack the encrypted passwords. LinkedIn has more than 160 million users worldwide.
The company also stated that, there has been no reports of any account information being compromised because of the hacked passwords. LinkedIn is taking many steps needed to save its reputation among its large user base.
