    Nokia announces Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 Windows Phone 8 smartphones

    This announcement was much awaited and yesterday Microsoft along with Nokia showed their hard work in the form of Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 smartphones running Windows Phone 8. 

    Nokia introduced their flagship smartphone Lumia 920 which comes with PureView camera technology. Optical Image Stabilization combined with Carl Zeiss lens makes your pictures and videos blur-free, more bright and clear even in bad light conditions.

    Nokia Lumia 920 also comes with first of its kind PureMotion HD+ display, which is said to be world's brightest, fastest and sensitive display ever. The display will respond accurately even though your fingers are covered or wearing gloves. One of the other new things in Lumia 920 is the wireless charging which only requires you to put your smartphone over the charging dock.

    Nokia also announced another Windows Phone 8 smartphone which is target towards the mid-range segment, the Lumia 820. It doesn't have the PureView camera technology but does feature a 8 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss Tessar lens. Lumia 820 has got changeable back covers so that you can give your phone a new color everyday.

    There has been no words on the price and availability as of now. However, Nokia CEO Stephen Elop said that new phones will go on sale in the 4th Quarter in select markets. We will keep you updated with the launch date and price when announced by Nokia. 

    This launch was very important for Nokia as they are looking to revive their sinking sales graph. The two new phones Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 are very much on the right track but we would have to wait and see what Apple has to offer on September 12, as it is expected they will unveil iPhone 5 at the event.
